Research in the Martins research group focuses on T cell differentiation and T cell leukemia.
Your responsibilities:
Laboratory management: organization of laboratory work, order and manage reagents, stocks and materials, maintenance of laboratory equipment
Management of a mouse colony: including genotyping, breeding and husbandry, order and recording of animal numbers
Training new staff, preparing work placements for students, overseeing lab work of new staff
Analysis of transgenic mice and characterisation of genetically modified mice, isolation of cells from various organs, preparation of single-cell suspensions and subsequent characterization via FACS analysis, microscopy and molecular biological methods.
Isolation and in vitro culture of primary stem and progenitor cells from mice and humans
Performing cell sorting
Ensuring good research practices in the lab
Scientific engagement through participation in internal seminars
Maintenance of lab webpage

Your profile:
Previous experience in flow cytometry
Experience using the mouse as a model organism
Very good command of English (spoken and written)
Very good command of German (spoken and written)
Completed vocational training as an MTA, BTA or CTA
Knowledge of BD FACS instruments
FELASA course is an advantage
Experience in various molecular biological / biochemical methods
IT skills in standard computer programmes
Willingness to work independently in a team-oriented and communicative manner
